Just days after the devastating earthquake, Dr. Carol Johnson left her home to help the people of Haiti. Together with Milk and Honey Ministries, Sunrise Christian Academy (SCA), was able to provide her with collected funds for transportation, food, medicine, water and other supplies and care items to help the victims of this tragedy.

SCA students also collected more than 1,200 pairs of new or gently used shoes which were shipped to orphanages and other victims in Haiti. Shoes are a critical item because there is so much broken glass, concrete, and metal in the streets that causes even more injuries.

The need still exists for additional relief in Haiti. Dr. Johnson is planning to go back for a third trip; and several Sunrise students are also planning on going to Haiti for a summer to help with a variety of projects.
