Second Grade News

Here’s What’s Happening

The second grade classes are raising money to help send a child that has muscular dystrophy to camp. 

Book-It – I have collected your child’s December Book-It coloring sheets and have sent home the January Book-It sheet.

January 5&9 – There will be a new building open house at 7:00.

January 10 – Field Trip to Exploration Place – permission slips attached

January 13 – Our next newsletter and Friday Folder will be sent home on January 13.

January 16 – Teacher In-Service No School

January 27 – We will be celebrating Kansas Day.  Children are invited to dress up as a famous Kansan.

Here’s What We’re Learning

Math  - writing numbers in the thousands place, writing money, subtraction, geometric shapes

Phonics – adding suffixes, contractions, tion, sion

Spelling – All words will be in cursive.  We will be starting vocabulary words this week.  On the test I will write out the definition and the children will have to supply the word and spell it correctly.

English – adjectives

Bible – Nehemiah

Bible Verses
