Here's What's Happening!

 Miss Ranfeld's 3rd Grade Class News - - - Jan. 9-13

GRADE CARD:  Grade cards are being sent home today for elementary students.  Please sign and return the grade card in the envelope sometime next week.  If you did not receive your child’s grades, you are behind on tuition payments or your child has overdue books or fines in the library.

KANSAS DAY:  Kansas Day is coming up at the end of this month.  Our whole day will be committed to Kansas-related activities on Friday, the 27th.  Each student is to come to school dressed as a famous Kansan.  They will have the opportunity this week to look through a book of 399 famous Kansans and choose who they want to be.  I will have a copy made of the information about their character so you know who they were and what they did.  Each student must come to school ready to introduce themselves.  They should tell us who they are, when/how long they lived in Kansas, and what they are famous for.  The information should be written in one paragraph.  Points will be given toward their English grade for good complete sentences, and they will be given a penmanship grade.  Costumes do not need to be extravagant.  Whatever you can come up with from what you have at home is fine.  If you would like to help your child select their character according to a costume that would be easy for you to put together, feel free to do so.  Options range from sheriffs, to pioneer men and women, to the founder of Pizza Hut, to athletes, to a famous horse and wolf.

F.W.C. OPTIONS:  If you would be interested in doing a winter art project sometime in the next month or so, please let me know!

POP BOTTLES:  If you have empty two liter pop bottles at home, please send them to school with your child on Monday!

Our next field trip is tentatively planned for Friday, February 17. We will be going to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson for the day.
