Welcome to 2012-2013 school year!
I’ve been married to Rolando for 20 years and we have 2 children: Czarina and Mikaela. When we were in the Air Force, we were stationed in Japan,Mississippi, Germany and Kansas where Rolando retired in 2006. I graduated with a BS Math degree from Manila and a Master of Education (major in Curriculum and Instruction) from Wichita State. Before Sunrise, I taught college for 10 yrs in the Philippines; 2 yrs at West High School and as an adjunct instructor for 2 yrs in Butler Community College. Yet in spite of my education and experiences, I consider myself inadequate as a teacher apart from God’s power.
Both my JH/SH classes are characterized by active participation in individual or collaborative settings using technology and manipulative resources. My goal is to train every student to not easily give up when things are tough (as they often are in math) but to demonstrate the values of hardwork, patience, and perseverance.
The past 7 years, I witnessed how God used Sunrise to help students meet their educational goals and to train them to become faithful followers of Jesus so they can make a difference here in Wichita and in other countries where the Gospel of Christ helped changed lives. I pray again that as Christians and as a school, we will continue to lift up His name and faithfully carry out the tasks He has appointed us to do this year.
“Train up achild in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6
