2012 Summer Missions See Mrs. O'Donnell
This is my second year teaching at Sunrise. I moved to Wichita in the summer of 2010, soon after marrying my husband Christian. We enjoy living in Kansas. Some of my hobbies include gardening, cooking, running, and playing with our pets, Bella and Sniffy.
My classes:
Science 6
In sixth grade science, we cover a broad range of subjects. Our year is divided into 6 units, which cover introductory parts of biology, chemistry, astronomy, geology, and physics. We love to do experiments and other hands-on activities. Another important subject we are addressing this year is what the Bible teaches about creation. In our class, we look into what Genesis 1 says about Creation, and we discuss the questions students have.
Science 7
Seventh grade science is life science. Students will be introduced to cells, genetics, plant and animal classifications, systems of the human body, ecosystems, and much more. We have the opportunity to do some dissections this year as well! We will also discuss Creation from a Biblical standpoint and discuss some of the theories of evolution for the purpose of defending a Christian worldview.
I believe students all learn differently, so I incorporate videos, hands-on projects, visual aids, student interaction activities, as well as lecture/note taking into my classes.
Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.
